Du 11 au 13 décembre 2020, le ZKM | Hertz-Lab organise l’édition 2020 du festival « inSonic », examinant les changements, les transitions et expansions qui ont lieu dans le domaine de la musique et de l’art sonore résultant du développement de nouveaux formats et de nouvelles pratiques artistiques, y compris, mais sans s’y limiter, l’utilisation de technologies de rupture, comme l' »apprentissage automatique » ou des concepts tels que la « réalité étendue ». Le festival se déroulera sous la forme d’une vaste édition en streaming comprenant des conférences éclair, des tables rondes, des performances artistiques et des concerts en direct.
Avec plusieurs tables rondes, le Hertz-Lab met l’accent sur la création contemporaine en collaboration avec l’intelligence artificielle dans le domaine de la musique et de l’art sonore. La conversation portera sur la comparaison entre les outils innovants qui façonnent le travail des artistes du son et des musiciens d’aujourd’hui et les pratiques créatives utilisées par les premiers pionniers dans le domaine de la musique informatique.
From December 11–13, 2020 the ZKM | Hertz-Lab will be hosting this year’s edition of the »inSonic« Festival, examining the shifts, transitions and expansions which take place in the field of music and sound art resulting from the development of new formats and artistic practices including but not limited to the use of disruptive technologies, like »Machine Learning» or concepts such as »Extended Reality«. The festival will be held as a wide streaming-edition including lightning talks, panel discussions, artistic performances and live-concerts.By means of two panel discussions the Hertz-Lab puts a strong emphasis on the artistic use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the sphere of music and sound art. The conversation will focus on the comparison between innovative tools which shape the work of today’s sound artists and musicians and the creative practices used by early pioneers in the domain of computer music. The overarching question will be, whether and how the artistic desideratum and the particular (technological) challenges have changed over the years and how they will look like in the future.
